Why we started

As a researcher, I’ve often faced that familiar moment: trying to explain my work to someone outside my field, only to see their eyes glaze over. Despite science's incredible impact, it can feel distant and inaccessible to much of society.

At the same time, I know researchers have powerful stories to tell — stories that deserved to be understood, remembered, and supported. That’s why I founded Science Web Studio: to help researchers bridge this gap through thoughtful design, clear communication, and a deep respect for the scientific journey.

I’m Luchiana — a researcher, geologist, and storyteller at heart. I studied geology and earned a PhD exploring cave sediments, but what truly fascinated me wasn't just the science itself, but the way it connects people.

While I’m still active in research, I realized that my true passion lies in communicating science — sharing knowledge, sparking curiosity, and helping ideas reach further.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me reading about psychology, dreaming up long-term adventures, climbing with friends, or chasing the perfect cup of coffee.

Mihail is the steady force in our small team — a designer by training and an explorer at heart. With a background in architecture and visual arts, he brings clarity and balance to every project.

We met through our shared love for nature and adventure, and now we bring that same spirit into our work: while I focus on the science and storytelling, Mihail translates complex ideas into clean, intuitive design.

When he's not refining layouts or offering brutally honest feedback (which I secretly appreciate), he's likely dreaming of wind, sails, and the next journey at sea.
